From my archieves! 11029 Mumbai CST Kolhapur Koyna Express climbing the gradient and entering Khandala Railway station on a rainy morning. The train was powered by UBL WDP-4B 40057.It was banked by triple WAG-7 bankers from KYN shed! Video captured in July 2015.

Wonderful acceleration by twin WDG-4 locomotives from Hubli (UBL) shed as they power a loaded BOXN freight train towards Madagon. It was good to spot a original cab WDG-4 locomotive in south KR after a long time. These OC WDG-4s from UBL (Hubli DLS) were once very common during the early days of KR. Now they are rarely seen in KR especially after the electrification of KR network.

Beautiful soft tone honking by the freight beast pair WDG3A 13303 and WDG3A 13577 in charge of 22149 Ernakulam Pune Superfast Express! Video Captured in June 2022 when the train used to run with ALCOs. Later it was replaced by a WDP4D class locomotive and now, post full electrification of KR, this train runs with a WAP-4 locomotive.

Pune WDP4D hitting top MPS with a late running 11097 Pune Ernakulam Express in tow!! This is one of the few diesel hauled trains in KR as on today and can capture in daylight here in South KR..

EMD delight in 2024!! Spotting a diesel hauled train in modern electrified Indian Railways network is indeed a huge delight! In this video, one can see GY WDG4 12301 GY WDG4 12569 accelerating out of Udupi (UD) railway station with a north bound loaded BOXN freight! The 9000 HP combination going crazy with the heavy load as they aggressively smoke and accelerate with amazing humming sounds!!

Karnataka coast’s first ever Vande Bharat Express between Mangaluru and Madgaon was flagged off on December 30. The train was flagged off by Honarable PM Sri Narendra Modi in Virtual Mode. Currently it is powered by WAP-4 loco of either BSL or VTA or BRC shed
